2024

6th January 2025

THANK YOU from everyone at the Loughborough Area Foodbank!

In 2024 you donated 18.5 tonnes of food and essential items.

Your generosity enabled us to support 6628 people who were struggling to make ends meet.

Together we fed 3056 children and 3572 adults.

2024 has been a difficult year for many of us. We’ve seen how life circumstances can change in an instant, plunging people into poverty making them feel desperate, hopeless and alone. These are some of the main causes of poverty we have seen since the launch of the foodbank:

  • Debt
  • Relationship changes
  • Bereavement
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Rising costs of food and essentials
  • Rising housing costs and bill increases
  • Physical or Mental health conditions
  • Job loss, redundancy or changes to work hours
  • Reduction of benefits
  • Drug and Alcohol addiction

At Loughborough Area Foodbank we try to help people beyond their immediate needs. As well as providing emergency food and essentials we also help people identify the root cause of their poverty and then we help them tackle it. We all need a helping hand sometimes, it can make all the difference!

Through your generous donations of food, time and money, you have helped us bring hope to thousands of people facing difficult times.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year.
